Hi again,
Well it’s been a busy few weeks but I am glad I finally got the chance to get The Last Will Be First up. I know that you will enjoy it. Considered a compelling tale that is Steinbeck-esque in its nature, it’s a story about social justice, about shattered hopes and dreams and a faith and a friendship that will not, even amidst the darkest of days, die between two men whose lives become irreversibly woven together.
Hope all is going well with everybody out there and that you like this sample from this story. As always the full version is available down below.

He never expected that this would be his life, that this would be all that it had amounted to. He may not have had big dreams but they were always larger than this. Yet now… now he was nothing more than a lost soul searching for a place in a world that seemed to just forget him, relying on the compassion and the sympathy of others as the days of his life passed by waiting in one line or another, praying for some sort of deliverance that would restore his hope and his faith. It hadn’t come yet but then when you have nothing faith and hope becomes everything.
A compelling and riveting story of loss and hope amidst a world that seemed so dark and distant, given to such despair The Last Will Be First tells of two men passed by in a land of promise and prosperity, and the dreams they had that someday they would be able to finally find more. A tale of the bonds we form, the optimism that transcends our circumstances and the desperation that can encompass us, it shows a side of life that is rarely considered or talked about, but that grips so many in its clutches.

Hi,
This is an excerpt from my latest story, Stealing Time. It’s about a aging man who is seeking desperately to regain his place in the world. Lost and confused he finds himself lonely and hurt, full of pain that seems to engulf him. Then the feelings hit and he is left with nothing more than the attempts to try and find what he once lost. I really hope that you enjoy it and I look forward to more to short stories to come. Feel free to contact me any time with any questions that you may have and thanks for all your support.

Deep inside him he could feel it stirring. In those moments the feelings because inescapable. He was lost in them. Slowly he would move his old and aged body, quietly hoping not to draw attention to himself as he moved through the hallway to her room. He would try to stop himself but it was like a sirens song that always drew him back again and he knew that there was little left that he could do even if he wanted to. He longed too much for her touch, for her feel. He just couldn’t stay away any longer.
Stealing Time is a story of loneliness, and age, of the pain and sorrow of time passing you by and the moments of redemption that you find in the instances of joy that come. The story of one old man’s journey and longing it weaves the tale of a person searching for his lost place in the world, seeking to once more, amidst his desperation, to gain it.

Once so full of life and energy the empty room seems so hollow, the shadow of what it had once been. Darkness seems to fill him as he stands there looking at the bed he had spent years sitting beside reading to his daughter as she softly fell asleep. Now though… now it just conjured hurt and pain and sorrow that seemed to encompass him and he wondered why it had to be this way. He had always expected her to leave, but he had always thought he’d have more time, that she would grow older and wiser, leaving when she was ready. Now, as he stared out into the night sky he just wished he had more time.
Suddenly is a story of hurt and anguish, a story of lost time and the cruel twists of fate that can change our lives, shattering the world we knew, leaving us hurt and broken in those places as we desperately search of answers that never quite come.

She sat in the corner lost in her world of sorrow, seeking desperately to find the peace that seemed to elude her. The restlessness, the insomnia, the terrible dreams, they haunted her throughout the night with the images that caused her so much anguish. It’s when she’s lost in that world when I come to her, trying so desperately to free her from the darkness that seems to engulf her.
It was Ernest Hemingway who once said, “The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure that it will kill you too, but there will be no special hurry.” Never Gone, Never Forgotten tells the story of one of those haunting moments that can break or destroy the spirit in the hurt and the pain that dwells within it. A story of anguish and grief it’s a journey into the life of one who is left behind to sort out who she is amidst a world she doesn’t quite understand.

They sat in the coffee shop looking across at each other, stealing glances when they knew the other wasn’t watching, lost in the dreams of what could be. No words would be spoken, they couldn’t seem to find the right ones, just hope and desire that would seem to captivate them both.
It’s in the moments, the seconds that can, if seized, that our lives, they can be altered forever. The chances that we take, the opportunities that we grab hold of, they can come to define our lives in the anticipation that touches our soul. The Coffee Shop is a story that takes those moments where we know we should act, where we know we should do or say something, believing that a miracle can come to encompass our lives. A path of two who feel the draw of one another, it’s a journey into the mind of those who dream and wish for something more in their quiet exchanges.
